Burst pipe, roof leak, dishwasher flood, upstairs bathroom disaster — once the water source is fixed, we take care of the drywall. Damaged sections removed, new board installed, stains blocked, and everything refinished to match. We work with insurance adjusters too.
Here's exactly what happens when you hire us for water damage drywall repair.
We check moisture levels with a meter. Patching wet drywall just traps moisture and grows mould — we don't do it. If it's not dry yet we'll tell you how to get there first.
All compromised drywall and insulation comes out. We cut back to clean, solid material so the repair has proper anchoring.
Visible mould past surface staining, or structural damage, gets a specialist referral. We don't do remediation, but we work seamlessly after the remediator is done.
New board cut to fit, screwed to studs or proper backing, taped and mudded with 3 coats. This is where rushed repairs fail — we don't rush mud drying.
Shellac-based stain blocker so old water stains never bleed through your paint. Texture matched to surrounding wall or ceiling.
Primer, then finish paint matched to the existing room. We photograph the completed work for your records or insurance claim.
Not always. Small surface stains where the drywall is still solid and dry can sometimes be cleaned, primed with a stain blocker, and repainted. But if the drywall is soft, sagging, swollen, or the paper is bubbled, it must come out. We test moisture with a meter and tell you honestly what needs replacing.
No — and you should be wary of any drywall contractor who says yes. Mould remediation requires certified specialists, proper containment, and different insurance coverage. If we see visible mould past surface staining, we'll tell you, give you a referral, and come back to handle the drywall replacement once remediation is done.
Not if it's done right. Water stains contain tannins and contaminants that bleed through regular primer and paint. We use shellac-based or oil-based stain-blocking primer which seals the stain completely. Skipping this step is why DIY paint jobs show the stain again after a few weeks.
Yes. We can provide written quotes in a format adjusters accept, document the damage and our work with photos, and itemize our invoice so the claim is straightforward. We don't negotiate the claim on your behalf, but we make sure you have what you need to submit.
Starts at $500 for small sections (a single ceiling stain with minor replacement). Larger jobs — a full ceiling section, multiple walls after a basement flood — typically run $1,000-$3,000+ depending on square footage, whether insulation needs replacement, and access difficulty. Quotes are always free and firm before work starts.
Usually 2-4 days from start to paint finish, depending on size. Most of that time is drying — mud coats need 12-24 hours between each, and stain-blocking primer needs proper cure time. Rushing it is how repairs fail.
We can't offer 24/7 emergency response, but we do offer same-day quotes and same-week starts for water damage work. If you've had a flood, the priority is stopping the water and getting things dry — call us once that's handled and we'll get you scheduled fast.
